I am reading The Self Aware Universe by Amit Goswami and have been deeply drawn to the point that there is only one consciousness in a manner that greatly shifted my awareness. There is not your consciousness over there and mine over here. We think from the same mind. We dwell in the same mind source.

Our vocabulary should not contain “I, me, you and them.” What would happen if we said, “We think, we feel, we know?” One consciousness, one mind, one thought. My consciousness is not separate from yours. Yours is the same consciousness as mine. We are one big thought, one mind.

I so want to cling on to my individuality, my uniqueness, my personal talents and achievements. How do I make this shift? How do I merge with and accept one mind, one consciousness as my reality?

I rather like the analogy of the Cosmic Soup—that I am seasoning that affects the Cosmic soup which contains all there is, but that still makes me feel separate as it puts the emphasis back on me and my particular flavor.

The analogy of the ocean and my being a drop in that ocean works a bit better, first exists the ocean, then me as a drop.

But that still keeps me separate. How can I become truly aware of my role in one consciousness?

I can’t get there from my body suit although I want to.

I believe that my thoughts of peace affect the whole group consciousnesses, but even the word “group” suggests separate and many. And I believe I am affected by the group consciousness just as someone adding salt would affect the taste of the Cosmic Soup.

I can only feel my consciousness when I lose myself, when I move into an inner silence so deep that my body disappears, my sense of self disappears. “I” no longer exist, I am absorbed and melded into something so all pervading, all encompassing that I lose all sense of “self.”

Can I feel my consciousness as part of yours? I can feel your energy. I can feel your love, I can feel your vibration but I’m not sure I can yet feel that you and I have and are the same consciousness.

Can I feel my consciousness being the same as my cats? Can I feel my consciousness as the same as the trees along my walk and the insects in my garden and the rocks along my path?

There are moments as I walk my life journey that I can experience that feeling. As I gaze in wonder at a magnificent mountain, or watch a spectacular sun rise and sun set. I can catch glimpses of it in meditation and in moments when I stop to listen and feel. I cannot yet walk my life in constant awareness of my total interconnection with all. And I am willing to learn to do so.

My consciousness is not separate from yours. Your consciousness is not separate from mine. We are of One Mind.

I shall walk though my day with a deeper awareness and try to capture our sameness.

I disappear
I disappear
Into stillness
I disappear
Into stillness
And find home

1. One of Life´s Great Lessons – Learn to be Thankful for What You Already Have By Jim Rohn
(excerpted from the New Jim Rohn Weekend Event DVD/CD series)Is thankfulness a survival skill? Perhaps most of you would respond with, "No, Jim, thankfulness is not key to survival", and I would tend to agree with you. Most of us have probably already solved the necessary problems of survival, gone beyond that and are now working to achieve our desires. But let me give you this key phrase, "Learn to be thankful for what you already have, while …

2. The Women At The Cross (Reflections On The Death And Resurrection Of Jesus) By Lee Wise
The women at the cross. Have you ever thought about them? Why not drift into a comfortable - and meditative - position on a coach or in a chair and read verses 40 and 41 in Mark, chapter 15?When I read those words, one of my first thoughts was "Gutsy!" I would not have wanted to watch. Some folks that day watched because they were cruel and insensitive people. Not these women. They were there because they cared. They did not know the answer to h…

3. I Hate My Computer and Other Inspirational Thoughts By James Snyder
The New Year has not started out very well for Yours Truly. After the first day of the new year, my life went south for the rest of the winter. All I can say is, I hope it has a wonderful winter, and don't forget to write.Speaking of writing, I can sum up my feelings at this moment by saying, "I hate my computer."Perhaps, you may think the word "hate" a little too strong. Under normal circumstances, I would agree wholeheartedly. These, however,…

4. The Thief of Fulfillment By Chris Green
Why does this happen? It’s all to do with the way the subconscious perceives survival. It knows that you are in a safe position and that survival is more or less guaranteed if you carry on in the same way. As soon as you start to consider making changes to your life, your subconscious mind will play the fear card. You are leaving the comfort zone and boy-oh-boy, does it not like it! Not one little bit! This is no joke. It happens to millions of p…
